Several of Arendals Fossekomapani’s subsidiaries are themselves large corporations with international market positions within a number of industries, among these the production of/ trade in/ administration of electrical power, IT-based services in the power sector, communications technology and industrial electronics.

 

EFD Induction

EFD Induction delivers advanced heating systems based on induction technology to the manufacturing industry all over the world. The most important customers are found in the car industry, pipe production, electronic industry, cable industry, and mechanical industry. The corporation’s business is concentrated in three areas of activity: Induction Heating Machines, Induction Power Systems, and Spares and Service.
The corporation has production facilities in Norway, Germany, France, Romania, India, China, and the United States, in addition to its own sales offices in a number of countries.
The corporation’s head office is in Skien.

Cogen Energia Espana S.L

Cogen Energia España builds, owns and operates combined heat and power (CHP) plants in Spain. In the CHP plants operated by Cogen, excess heat from the gas-based electricity production is exploited to provide heat, steam, or cooling to industrial partners in the vicinity of the CHP plant. The combined efficiency then becomes higher, the CO2 emissions are reduced, and the industrial partner becomes more cost effective.
In addition to operating its own power plants, Cogen has considerable activity related to third party operation, maintenance and service, in addition to also representing several production facilities in the electricity market.
The company’s head office is located in Madrid.

In addition to turnkey system deliveries Scanmatic also offers products, development services, projecting, installation, operation and maintenance.
Scanmatic’s head office is in Arendal. In addition, it has two subsidiaries, one in Stockholm which serves the company’s Swedish customers and Scanmatic Elektro which is an electrical contractor mainly within road and tunnel lightning.

Markedskraft has since 1992 been an important participant in the development of the Nordic power market. The company is an independent provider of services in the Nordic and European wholesale market for electricity.

Wattsight was previously known as MKonline, a part of Markedskraft AS. The company was demerged from Markedskraft in 2017.

Arendal Lufthavn Gullknapp AS

Arendal Lufthavn Gullknapp (Arendal Airport Gullknapp) lies in Froland municipality in Aust-Agder county. Geographically, the airport is favourably situated with excellent take-off and landing conditions.
The airport’s runway has recently been expanded to 1199 meters, with safety zones of 30 meters at each end of the runway. The runway has a width of 30 meters.
The airport company wishes to develop Arendal Lufthavn Gullknapp to a charter- and taxi airport. Initially, one imagines flight with airplanes and helicopters with a MTOW of 5700kg and a maximum of 9 passenger seats. In addition to charter- and taxi flights, the airport company wishes to establish scheduled air traffic to Oslo.

Arendal Industrier AS

Arendal Industrier has a long term lease of the Vindholmen premises owned by Arendals Fossekompani. At present, the company’s activities are limited but a new municipal plan opens up for re-development of the former dockyard area. The conditions are therefore favorable for further development of the area for a combination of business and housing purposes.
